Some Random Cary Grant Facts:

He always kept in his pocket a length of twine - perhaps to remind him of the days when he and his family had nothing
At one time he owned a Sealyham terrier he named Archie Leach
As a child he had a fear of knives and heights
He always wore a gold chain around his neck with three charms attached.  Each charm representing the religions of his former wives: A St. Christopher for Virginia Cherrill (Roman Catholic), a small cross for Barbara Hutton and Betsy Drake (Protestants), and a Star of David for Dyan Cannon (Jewish)
Cary’s favorite after shave/cologne was Aqua DePalma
One of his favorite poems was:
They brought me a box of tin soldiers / I threw all the Generals away / I smashed up the Sergeants and Majors / Now I play with my Privates all day.

He gave his entire fee for The Philadelphia Story to the British war effort and donated his entire salary for Arsenic and Old Lace ($100,000) to the U.S. War Relief Fund
Was a big Elvis Presley fan and attended his Las Vegas shows
Wore a year-round suntan to avoid wearing makeup
Was far-sighted
Performed as an acrobat when he was young and did the majority of his own stunts in his movies (far more than people would think)
